Usually when a flower isn't pollinated, it will wilt and drop off stem and all. This Dr. D's first two blossoms held the stems and what look-like ovaries intact. They didn't seem to grow, but just sit there.
My question is, am I better off to snip these off to conserve growing energy for the young plant? Or should I just let them be and see if they develope into a seedpod?
(less than a year-old cutting under indoor growing condition).
Brug's ovaries?
Here is another example, this is a 2nd 5-6 months old cutting of Milk & Honey, it had two blooms. No hand pollination intended, the first flower faded and felt, left behind its ovary and stem on the plant, as you can see the second spent flower is also ready to fall off.....Notice, the little calyx behind it.
It's been my experience that when they curl like that.. they didn't take. Or when they are very pale... it's a barren ovary. :)
Ok, that's all I need to know. Thanks Joyce, those babies will be cut off ASAP.
Thank you. Thank you.
