My pet chicken

I was on the my pet checkin website and it stated that they can sell sexed bantam silkies. What are your opinions of that? Are they a good hatchery?

sorry that i have no idea, but feathersite would be a good source of info, and also do a search on the hatchery's name to see what poeple say about them...

Anastasiast, I ordered four silkie chicks from them that were supposed to be four sexed females, but they ended up sending me two females AND two males! Same ratio as straight run, but I paid for females. One of the chicks also had some type of neuro problem, that eventually worked itself out. This particular silkie also had a straight comb instead of the strawberry type. Anyways, If you are ordering silkies, I wouldn't order from them, unless you don't care about the sex.

I got sexed bantams from mypetchicken. I paid alot extra to get them sexed. I did get roosters. The thing is, there is NEVER a 100%
guarantee when sexing them. But it is much harder for them to be accurate with a bantam. So i think if you want to increase the odds of getting girls, you are better off having them sexed. But just know that it does not mean you will not get roosters. If you call them and ask about it, i think they will credit you if it happens, but you will still have the roosters. The people at mypetchicken are great and the quality of the chicks i got from them was great. I highly recommend them.
