My seed trading shopping list is done for this year

Scored the last ones I wanted from one guy in Spain.
jacaranda mimosifolia
Erythrina crista galii
arbutus unedo

Guy wanted my best seeds and he wants to trade seed for seed. Hopefully he'll kick in some extra seeds but I doubt it. Everyone seems to want these two.
Aristolochia gibertii
Aristolochia ringens
Wish I had a bunch of seeds for those but a lady just through them in with some other seeds I wanted. Never actually had heard of them till I looked them up. LOL.

...ahem...lol...so, are you bragging or are you coughing up the Aristolochia?

I have bought/traded for (even plants) lots of seeds, but mostly only sending out a few. The daughter actually likes winter sowing, which is good considering I totally burned her out on gardening when she was smaller

I'm surprised at how many seeds I picked up over the fall and winter. The last trade finished off what I wanted to try out so I'm pretty happy. The lady that gave me the aristos really helped me out in a round about way. The harder to find seeds seem to work as good currency in trading circles. LOL. Hopefully I can get those to grow and get many seeds from them this year. I'll spread those seeds around here if anyone wants them next fall.

This is a very useful site. Now if I can get everything to grow (haven't mastered that) I'll be happy.

Oh my .. if people keep saying Aristolochia, I'm going to have to get some. They are beating me over the head in the Vines and Climbers forum with stunning pictures. Like I really need more seeds. I just planted my second wave of seeds a few days ago after potting up the first wave. If I look over my shoulder at the moment I see the third wave sitting in a box waiting patiently for the second wave to germinate and be potted up .. and there probably is a 4th and 5th wave in there too. By the time March rolls around I'm wishing I had 10 foot arms because I can hardly fit my foot in the greenhouse with all the "waves" in there. It's a regular olympic feat not to step on anything.

So, Core, what you're saying is...yes, you were bragging....lol. I would brag, but I'm not coming off my seeds, either, not nice to tease

In plant trades I find the same thing, a plant I might not really want, everyone else wants (those thirsty, thirsty brugs, perfect example), so it makes for good trade fodder. Most of the seeds I wanted were more rare bulb seeds, so I bought the majority of them. Haven't ever had much luck with seeds, but since we're winter sowing most of them, I figured I'd splurge for the good stuff this year. If it doesn't pay off, I give up on seeds

X--doesn't look like you have problems getting seeds to grow
