I have White Butterfly Ginger (Hedychium coronarium) rhizomes. Would like to trade for other ginger.
I have White Butterfly Ginger to trade.
Hi there,
I am just getting started again after having moved from AZ. I dont have anything to trade with yet but I would love to either buy a couple rhizomes or pay for postage if you feel that you could part with one or two. Please let me know. I am not sure how they will do up here but I can always make them a house plant.
Thank you
Jan
Jan, you are the same zone as we are in N.E. Texas and they should do very good. My wife Maggi is from Portland. Gardning is very popular there and you should be able to find lots of interesting plants from local nurseries.
Thank you Kenboy for the info. I remember how well the garden did in Bend Oregon but that is high desert. It will be fun to see how every thing does here. I am also going to try some strawbale gardening so I will be busy this spring and summer.

We went on a vacation to Bend in the Summer of 05, and did I love that place. It was 94 when we got off the plain and went down to 49 that night. There was so much to see and do. I can't wait until we go back.
Gourdbeader, mine would not bloom in the container.
No, I am not planting in containers. Did I say that I was. Oh, thats right I said that I would use them as a house plant. I have since been told that they grow fine around here. I just don't have anything to trade just yet. Still getting my garden going again.
Thanks
Jan
These do well in zone 8a so you should have no problem. They also bloom well in a container for me...a half oak barrel. They need ample water and fairly rich soil. They bloom here from late July thru fall. The foliage freezes down in winter but comes back in spring. They will also do well in ground. Good luck!
