I only own two bromeliads, both grown from seed. This one is now 3 years old and blooming for the first time. It is Puya mirabilis, a more-or-less terrestiral type...at l;east I'm growing it in promix! The flowers are quite large but only last a single day. Figured I might as well share the pic since I'll only be seeing it for a couple of days!

So tell me, how did you come by the seed? and How do you resist getting more Bromeliads? LOL
Lovely close up pic! They look very delicate.

The seeds cames from the Nantes Botanical Garden, France. Never expected them to grow so well.
We're not able to import seeds here in Australia due to customs. There is probably someone who is able to get them past Quarantine by the right channels, and I know some Broms come through as Tissue culture, but I don't think they are available to the public until flowering has commenced, and thereby it is quite expensive!
