Vote for the new Texas license plate

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Have you all seen this? http://www.txdot.gov/services/vehicle_titles_and_registration/vote_plate.htm The site loads VERY slowly, so don't think it's just you. :-) The choices are very very nice. I voted for "Natural, but I like the "Lone Star" one, too.

Marilyn,

This was a fun thing to do!

Thanks for the reminder! I saw this in the paper today but had forgotten about it. I voted for Natural also, because I like a plate that doesn't clash with my car color, and that one fits the bill. However, I have a personalized plate, so I guess I"m voting for other people's plates! :-)

I'm adding that it only took about 3 seconds for it to load for me...perhaps everyone is eating dinner right now and there's not a crush?

Tyler, TX

Isn't it nice of them to let us choose? I too liked the natural.

NE Medina Co., TX(Zone 8a)

I certainly didn't like the one that is leading in votes. I wonder if they have a system in place to keep people from voting more than once. Anyway, I voted for Natural also.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

It was a quick load for me too. I noticed one they said had been reloaded due to an error yesterday. It shows the flag colors bolder. I voted for it because it shows up nicely. I love the bluebonnets, but they are so washed out that if you aren't close you can't make them out.

East of Nacogdoches, TX(Zone 8a)

Now this is some voting I'm confident in...

This is fun and I'm letting others know. Thanks for the information, learned it hear first.

Burleson, TX(Zone 8a)

I was just coming to post about this too! I voted for the natural one! :) (maybe it will be brighter in person)

Interesting ya'll are liking the natural one best. I didn't like how faint the image seemed. Brighter on that would be awesome. But as is I seemed to have voted for the most popular so far, the Lone Star image.

Loaded in seconds for me to. We have AT&T high speed here, fyi.

I cheated to see if the system will catch extra votes. It let me vote 3 times. But there is a link to "contact us" on the page that says to tell them WHY you liked your choice. You can email them to let them know they need a safeguard to protect against extra votes. I'll let them know I voted one to many times.

Houston, United States(Zone 9b)

HA....apparently you can't CONTACT us on the link. I did email them, from the site so no error in typing an email address, and it came back to my email box as undeliverable? Sigh. Sheesh.

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

Tir...I read that you can VOTE as many times as you want, but the system will throw out any over the "2 per family". But I suppose that is my email, so one could (if he had the time to spend!) vote 2 times with each email addy, and some of us have 8 or 10! :-)

Houston, United States(Zone 9b)

did it ask for your email addy before voting? i forget.

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Nah, they don't usually do that by counting e-mail addresses. They count IP's (your computer's or network's Internet address), or similar hardware identifiers. So, theoretically, I guess you could vote multiple times by using your cell phone or PDA, or something like that.
