Free AVG- doesn't update automatically anymore

I have used AVG free for years and love it- now have 7.5 on 2 computers- one of them still updates automatically, but mine does not- about once a week I will get the message that a component needs to be updated- I do it and all is fine- until the next time! It isn't a really big deal- just annoying that in the psat it worked on it's own, now will not. The computer gremlins will drive you nuts at times! Any advice? I have XP on both computers.
