Hi all .. :-)
I went to my elderly Aunts for lunch today. She's 92 and so bright. I was looking at her plants and there in amidst them was the oddest little plant. She said it was a 'type'of Hoya .. sure doesn't look like mine!! She looked through some photos and showed me one from when it had last bloomed .. I should have brought it with me :-( The flower this plant produces is almost 'Lilly like' Cream and sort of pink .. just before I left .. a neightbour popped in .. she said the plant is called (and here is where I need the jog) .. she called it a Hugenia .. or something close to that ...
The plant itself is not big (the greenery) the leaves are almost 'box shaped' ...
Can anyone help me out here .. I figger I am going to go to bed and DREAM about this !!!!!

Jog my mind .. PLEASE !!
Hi Marilynne,
I can't think of any hoya that even sounds close to the name she called it! Could it be possible that your aunt is mistaken about it being a hoya? I think the only way you'll be able to find out what it's called is if you post a pic.
Good luck!
Gabi
Could she be talking about a Huernia?
This is a link to several different ones in the Plant Files

OH CINDY .. thank you SO much .. I do believe it is a Huernia ..
Huernia tanganyikensis .. so .. that'd make it a cactus .. something I have NO luck with at all :-(
Again
Thanks
:-)

Hi Marilynne. You're welcome. They are not all that intimidating. Succulents often do better with a little neglect rather than over-nuturing. That's where I always get in trouble. You have to admit the flowers are beautiful.
Glad I could help.
Cindy
The flowers are almost 'surreal' .. I will try to scan the pic .. my Aunt is reluctant to let the pic go though .. I have to say .. that the flower is almost 'waxy' in appearance .. which lead me to believe it was a Hoya.
I posted a pic of my Hoya eons ago it seems .. hasn't bloomed for me in at least 2 to 3 years .. but .. when it did .. WOW .. the flowers were amazing :-)
Again .. thanks Cindy ...
