CLOSED: Looking for Mirabilis Multiflora 'Dessert 4:00s'

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

I received seeds of these last season from a wonderful trader and sowed all of them. I didn't get any seeds but would love to have them again. I have lots to trade just no posted list. Let me know what you are looking for!!

Chesapeake, VA

I have Mirabilis - 4:00s - but I don't know what species except I'm sure they are the old-fashioned cottage garden variety, whatever that is. I saved seed last year - you are welcome to them with a SASE. I'm in the address exchange.

By the way, these reseed AND the original plant comes back from the roots. So...you probably don't need seed anyway. The plants themselves have probably taken care of it. :) Look for them coming back in the late spring.

Usually they come back but I'm not sure if they come back in PA. I know they will in the warmer areas.

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

desert 4 o clocks are very hard to get to come back due to the cold and ice we have here in sc and snow in other areas.

i have been trying for years and keep buying them each year and only see blooms. i dont know if our season is too short or what but they are hard here to grow.

the only people i have sen get seeds is people in arizona and places like that.

i learned to start them indoors then transplant outside . had two bloom last year and hoping it will come back this year in the ground. i also have one in a pot that i hope will come back too.

good luck.

Unfortunately they aren't hardy here in PA and I didn't get to save the tubers.

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9b)

Mine set one seed very early last spring and then no seeds the rest of the year although I thought I would get some in the fall they never fully developed. They require the hawkmoth for pollination but still, pollination seems variable at best. I hope to get seeds this year!

WOW That stinks!! I guess I'll have to purchase some...
