We have the co op going and have over 700 sold. The cut off is 800 that Mike is ordering and repackaging for everyone... I would love to see that site when they all arrive.. I can't even imagine 800 cuttings together.. much less the thousands that are available. Poor trees.. that is a LOT of cutting. Wonder where they came from.

Tammie

I've been told they come from Mexico.
Mike will be up to his eyeballs..... but what a successful co-op in such a short time!

Tucson, AZ

cuttings from mexico sounds good!

Yuma, AZ

Dete, That's where the cuttings from the Co Op are coming from I believe. I got a few... if you didn't get in on the Co Op I can send you a few.

yeah, that's why i said that they sound good. LOL let me know how they grow for you in yuma. i wonder if they come from a desert region.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Yes, I believe C-Stars gets there's from the same source, or maybe they are the source. I know they have a ranch there in Mexico where the trees are. Every cutting is marked wtih a dot. I visited their warehouses a couple of times. It was amazing.

This pic is Bret Morgan's pic from when he went:

Here's one that I took. The pink is probably Cancun Pink as it is for C-Stars.

Dete
I have received a large order of cuttings that sound like they came from the same place we are getting these. They were all marked with a paint dot. Red, Pink, Yellow, and White. I got them late in the season, but most still rooted fairly well. I think I had around 90 out of 100 root for me. Had the hardest time with the pink ones, lost the most out those. None of the flowers so far were out of the ordinary, but all that rooted grew well. So if they are from the same place a I will be happy, we'll see. So was that a yes you would like some...you addict. I send you some in the spring. I am going to try to root these with the aeroponics cloning machine recommended in another thread. Should be interesting.

Tucson, AZ

Dete, well if your getting rid of some, let me know. I am still in denial, I have no problem.

Wow, awesome pictures, Dete! I'm supposed to be reducing my collection too, but I bought 10! LOL! Hi. I'm Clare, and I'm a plumeria addict:-)

Tucson, AZ

clare, yeah i saw that when i went over to the co-op thread. i was tempted for a picosecond. LOL you know my situation ;-) i have to watch myself and that includes getting freebies because they require soil and pots and ferilizer and...LOL

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

So true. So true. Freebies can end up being quite expensive when you add up potting soil, fertilizer, containers, water cost, heating cost during winter, etc. I'm in the same boat as you are and am rapidly running out of room.

Yuma, AZ

Dete, Both are unbelievable. Where can I get my hands one those? I need more. I am only starting 1000+ seeds tomorrow, but I can always make room for more. I'm Davie and I have no problem at all.
Dete if you every need soil I have piles of it, left over from the lettuce I grow to seed, you are welcome to. It is a little heavy but if you mix in the right elements, such as perlite, it is pretty good stuff. I use it all the time.
Clare I give you the same offer, I know how far away you are though and its probably not feasible, but if you ever in the area.
Davie

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Thanks, Davie. That is sweet. I'm good. I buy my stuff from a farm supply place. By the way, those red seeds that you mentioned the other day -- I forgot to tell you that the name is probably Daeng Udon.

Yuma, AZ

That may be, but the supplier I got them from in Thailand labeled the seed packet with Dang Udom "Super Red", I am looking at the packet and picture now, I think I spelled it wrong the other night when I was tired.

Oh, okay! LOL! I just didn't want you to have to fix hundreds of labels!

Cave Creek, AZ

By the time I knew about the co op it was over. Too bad. I haven't had the mexican plumerias bloom great for me but I have some that I must have for 3 or 4 years now and are getting pretty big. I had one bloom 2 summers ago and it had small white flowers. By the time I got my cuttings from that bunch they were old and I lost a lot of them trying to root them. I thik they had layed around too long. I don't think anyone in our group had great luck with them. Fresh cuttings are always the best!
Mickey

Mulberry, FL

I have bought those cheap cuttings too. Seems they were over a year old some rooted and some withered away. Won't buy any more I too have way to many it is addicting once you get the first flower your hooked. Just took the plastic down today its raining here in florida let them all get there first drink. And the cycle begins all need repotting it is a expensive hobby like Clare says even if you get them for free its going to cost you. If you take care of them right. But the flowers are worth it. Happy Spring! Feels like it here already hit the 80's
