I enjoy stopping by a nusery here in Houston with a few very large french antique bird cages (very expensive as well) with finches. Their song in the middle of a lush garden is pretty nice. I certainly have no plans for birds but it is nice to read about others who perhaps have...

anyone have outdoor bird flights/aviaries in their gardens?
Brett, we have purple martin housing in the back yard. It is fun to check the nests and see the development of the babies. Their songs are lovely in the early morning and the flight patterns are so very gracefull. They will arrive from Brazil about Valentines day and stay to raise their young and then leave in July to go home. Gene
Only yard birds here.
same here... just the yard birds but feed them right and you get a wonderful song.
Which nursery are you talking about?
In east Tx I have this visual image of the birds being bait for the snakes... Would not fly here but a pretty visual image.
Neighborhood cats here, but it would be nice garden art.
The nusery is Joshua's Native Plants in Houston heights. He has a very nice selection of plants as well as antiques.

He has zebra finch, a cordon bleu and a pair of gouldian finches, all in very old, very cool french bird cages. The cages are quite large and they will set you back at least 1500. ;-)
Anyway, I do enjoy walking through the nusery, listening to his zebra finch sing...very relaxing.
