Adopting a rescued dog

Our adult daughter is looking for a dog to be her bark-dog if anyone comes near her house (in town). She does not want a puppy to train. Anyone know of good rescue places in Pacific Northwest? She was broken into 4 months ago and is now just moving back in after we re-built her door frame et al. She doesn't want an attack dog just a good barker.
