Well, Kate, looks like you were "spot on". I woke up to about 4 inches of snow this morning. Won't make it up the hill in my little truck, so I guess I'll have to take another day. Perhaps I'll be able to work from home, if I can swing it.
So I just saw on the news that there's a western washington storm watch on. They are predicting more snow from today through Thursday. Holy cow. What is this???
Got a new battery for my camera this weekend. Will post pictures when the sun comes up!!
January Snow!!
Well the dogs love it one postive thing. Out with the rubber boots and a broom to swat the heavy snow off the branches of evergreens. Yuck it sure does look pretty but thats it. Heidi
Ohh, Tils!
Beautiful but messy is right. Tills, I thought of you this morning when they said that there had been a security breach on the Kingston/Edmonds ferry and there was no travel this morning.
I can clearly see the Borzoi in the dogs when it snows - they are loving it - would stay out all day if they could. And I would let them, except that they can jump the fence (they've just forgotten it for the time being). And I can't get out to go find them.
Beautiful pictures - mine are coming . . .
I didnt hear about that, watch the news til 9 they didnt say anything. glad I stayed home LOL
Thanks for all the great pictures!
Tills, love the picture you woke up to!
Heidi, Love the wash tub, bells and cranes...how fabulous!
I love the snow, it is so much better than drip..drip...drip! So much brighter and clean looking, for the 1st day or two anyway after that it needs to go back up to the mountains.
I wish it had stayed in the mountains. but it is pretty
boo needs a pair of jammies like nicks boo says I'm from Australia and its too cold here. I think everyone else would tear it off him.
2" here this morning. I went to work late - sliding around my road until I got down to the lake road.
I still prefer the snow to be up in the mountains, & ice in a glass.
Yes, it's pretty to look at & I like how the dogs romp around & became instant puppies. But driving in it during the commute and having to navigate hills is nerve racking, especially without 4-wheel drive.
Love the jammies on Nick - where did you get those?
I don't think Ruby would cotton to anything like that, even though we both know she'd be super-cozy.
How to convince a Ridgeback......
How to convince a Ridgeback is right. :-) I got them from decotogs.com. The variety is great, the fabrics are great, the gal is great at getting you just the right fit. Ruby . . . you gotta try it.
I'm surprised you went into work. It was backstreet chaos here - so much snow and I was afraid that it would be worse on the way home.

I'll have to check decotogs out. I have made Ruby's coats, but she is not into being restricted in any sense, even to get warm. Amber, on the other hand, is a snuggle-princess. But she doesn't need a coat: only a lightweight blankie if she can't sneak up onto my son's bed.
I forgot that you were a seamstress!! If you remind me, I can bring Nick's jammies with me next time and show you the design so you can see if it'll work - I like it better than some.
Amber a snuggle-princess? She'd have to stop chasing the ball for that . . . LOL
Yeah, Kate. I've seen their crates. They're looking pretty nice.
Wow - look at Amber. Tired? Ruby's burka is nice. Did she do that all by herself?
Are you kidding? Ruby - cover herself? HAHAHAHAHA!
that's MY job. And I'd better get it right the first time, or she lets me know...
Amber - she's hunky-dory no matter what. Wait, no - it must involve some sort of spherical object (or part of one) on a daily basis.
And at this point, she has spilled out of her crate onto the carpet, stretched to cool...
Hahahahahahaha. Now you have me laughing. They are too cute . . .
Tills I love the pics! The first one that you posted of the woods is amazing! You need to keep that one aside for next years contest! So nice to see pics of everyones furbabies. Ruby looks soooo sweet! How old is Amber? She still as that "puppy" look about her. Heidi the pic of the rain chain into the washtub is great!
Both icy forest shots are pretty crazy. Go right along with the book I'm reading right now.
Ruby, Burka girl fatale - 8.
Amber, "I-just-gots-to-have-a-ball" - 7.
and Rach - don't let Ruby's "sweet" look fool you.
She's only sweet if:
You are officially registered in her olfactory memory bank.
You smell like dog.
You have edibles, on or in close proximity to you.
I know you say that Kate, and I'm sure you're right, but she seemed pretty sweet to me. She just probably has a sixth sense about them that's up to no good. :-) I see on the news that it's snowing in Bellevue. Nothing in Woodinville, yet. Should be any time now, though, if it's moving east. How 'bout you, Kate?
It's "icing" here. You know those teeny frozen slivers that sting briefly when they hit your skin...
And I was so hoping it would snow & get it over with! All this fickle snow drama - too much like a teenage girl: "yes - I'm gonna snow!...well, maybe a little later. OK, I'll do it tonight, no, that won't work. Hmmm, maybe for the morning commute - yes! that's it! But, what will everyone think? And if I snow too much, they won't like me. Ok I'll snow a little. Tomorrow. maybe...."
Ruby told me you were cool 'cuz you "smelled like Dog. Smell-good Dog - Nice..."
You will see her at her finest one of these days - ready to take down someone that's just out for a pleasant stroll, minding their own business, walking on the opposite side of the street. Their eyes always get big.
Oooh. Glad I'm on the good side of Ruby - maybe that's the key . . . to always smell like dog. But seriously, though, she and Bug would probably get along. He loves to flirt with the girls and always finds it a special challenge if they're the standoffish kind.
OK. Still home. Here's my dilemma. It's pretty warm out and has melted a lot, but not enough to get this road clear. I actually sent the pictures into work. They're great, but I really don't want to have to use up all my vacation (which I don't really have).
And now the wind's up. What's up with that?
Ah - the wind. We lost power the past three nights. What's a mother to do?
Go to bed early? Never.
Seed catalogs: a great reason to continue receiving them - they do not require anything more than candlelight.
I was able to get out to drive on Monday afternoon. It was a bit slippy-slidey...
