Hello, if you are growing this shrub are you having more luck than me? I have had it in the ground for 4 years and it has only reached 2.5 ft. No flowers yet. Robb.
anyone in Ontario growing Poncirus trifoliata?
Haven't a clue as to Canada, but in Tennessee, lower middle, it is a bit of a weed and is very slow growing. Seedlings take about 4 years to get to 2 to 3 feet, somewhat faster after about 4 feet., but still always slow growing.Never seen it in bloom at below 5 feet, but all ours were in shade In full sun you will get width instead of height and you lose the lovely graceful effect, becomes pretty much a tangled mass, the cultivar "flying dragon" is supposedly even slower and in sun more tangled, only seen 2 in the ground, one large and fruiting about 6 feet and one about 3 feet, both fairly tangled and both in mostly sun.
Good luck and be patient,a very nice plant for the background.
