the flight is in at 3:30 but we need to be there before that so DH can get to the gate to get son off the flight.
quick easy fast directions to DFW Today (27th)
Phyllis here is a map, you better allow at least 3 hours to make sure you don't get there late. Josephine.
http://maps.google.com/
I tried to give you the full link but it wouldn't work on here.
Click on the link and type DFW then click on the button called get directions and put in Tyler,Texas.
You will get a map with the directions.

Thanks..I guess I thought there was a way to get there without having to go through Dallas in it's self one of the wait staff had said you jsut take 20 and turn on another road that takes you right to it from signs starting on 20 LOL
Well if they know a better way that is fine, but don't forget that sometimes those shortcuts can cost you a lot of time.
Allow plenty of time for it and you will be fine, Good Luck.
Josephine.
Mapquest is jacked up as I have a fast connection and I cannot get it to load either.
Basically you take I-20 West until you hit highway 80...continue west on 80 until you connect with I-30 in eastern Dallas. When you come into downtown Dallas you need to follow signed and take I-35E NORTH. You'll again see signs for the DFW airport so make sure you're in the correct lane, but you need to get onto highway 183 and go WEST probably 10 more miles. You will see signs for the DFW airport (there is a north entrance and a south entrance) and I would use the south entrance. You'll get a ticket at the "toll" plaza a couple of miles into the airport - after that, stay to the left as all of the terminals exit to the left. Not sure which terminal you're using but they're clearly identified, A through E. Good luck!!
Here is a cheesy map I got from the DFW Int'l website but you can get an idea at least of where it is located relative to Dallas and FTW.
You could take I-20 around south Dallas and then get onto 360 North, but that is out of your way. Traffic should not be too terrible this time of day on the weekend.
Thanks both of ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...the gal at work just said 20 and follow signs so I am not gonna try to take a short cut that I don't even know LOL
Will be American airlines coming from Chicago ....soo off to check their site to make sure things are on time for now
Phyllis, just for next time, you can stay on 20 until you reach Hwy 360 in Arlington, and take that. (You can also pick up 360 from I-30.) It's not a shortcut--it takes you to the south entrance of the airport. The directions going through Dallas and 35E and 183 take you to the north entrance. It won't matter today, but the north entrance usually has more traffic.
You're driving within a couple of miles of my house. Maybe next time you can stop by for a visit.
ok that's the way she was talking then the gal at work she said it was the easiest way to get there ....too bad i didnt' psot this earlier we could have set up a meeting LOL
we are leaving now though so best go thanks
Not that it matters now, but you can get to the south entrance from 183. I do it all the time.
Thank you all for your directions did ya see me pass by and wave at y'all as we went to and from today??? LOL
got there at 3, got inside and checked the boards and time had changed to arrive at 4:08...his mother was suppose to call and tell us what time the plane actually took off but as usual she didn't and we had to call her once he got there by way of one of her sisters since she didn't answer her phone to find out what his bag looked like...luckily she was smart enough to put a red polka dot ribbon on it as almost all the bags were a black canvas bag LOL
