just moved my brug starts outside (again)--they seem to love getting outdoors but tonight is going to get down to 36--should i bring them in? and is it silly to bring them out for temps that are only in the 50's?
low night temps
I would not bring the Brugs outside if it's only going to be in the 50's and you can have a frost at 37, so I would bring them in. When the roots of plant get below 50 they shut down. Other then that I see nothing wrong in taking them in and out, in and out, ect..
kenboy
thank you--i have brought them in and will keep them there for a while till temps are nice and warm
My GH is set to keep the temps from falling below 45degrees... I've noticed the heater on during the day these days...
I also have some brugs on my front porch with day temps in the 40's and 50's and night temps many nights dropping to 30. Only frosty grass, nothing close to the house. They are still growing and Axel rose is actually blooming out there! They are not thriving like they do in spring, or like the ones in the GH, buthey, a bloom is a bloom! :)
I like to put my seedlings out as soon as they can stand it... I also enjoy taking them out for a couple of hours during the day to get some natural light and a little exposure.
i see why you call yourself zz's babies--you baby your plants like i do--my husband says i pay more attention to them than him--of course he's kidding-------i think! i do admitt that i talk a little bit to them!
LOL it's true... LOL
I think I enjoy taking them out for a bit of outside than they do! LOL I'm all excited for them and they just wilt and wanna go back under the lights. I have to tell em it's for their own good. LOL
I bring mine in only when they say it will be 32 or less and mine are doing very well....
I was talking about the indoor seedlings... Some of the year-old seedlings and established named varieties are outside 24/7..(the ones that won't fit in the GH)
