Before I go and spend the money what are your thoughts on these 2 Brugs? Is anyone really happy with them and are they hard to keep alive? Can they take the heat
Thanks
Mickey

Snow Bank and Miners Claim
I love them both they seem to handle the heat well
I have Snowbank and its very pretty but a slow grower for me.

I've always loved Snowbank... and she did really well here for years.... and she has the best varigation..and the cutting I have rooting now is my best growing cutting. Miners Claim.. I got from a friend twice she and I killed all four... she says now that Logees has MC she'll reorder there for the third try.. in hopes of getting their quality built in to this... the last one..
good luck with whichever one[ Gordon
Edited to say : I keep mine in full sun all day long...in NYC

My SnowBank has slowly grow to about 3 ft. No "Y" yet. I keep her in a shade house when she is not in the greenhouse as her leaves burn easily even with only an hour or two of morning sun. I love it for its variegated leaves. She has been relatively healthy. My Miner's Claim grew faster than Snowbank but slower than Maya. She bloomed once, got spidermites and despite any intervention I tried, she went south and died. I love her variegation so I plan to try again.
I've got Miners Claim, Jamie and Maya. Miner's claim is slow. She had two small 'flushes' last year. The varigation pattern is lovely, but overall I like Jamie and Maya better for their performance.
I have Snowbanks and Maya... Maya can take full sun, she blooms well and is quite a pleasure to grow.
Snowbanks is so beautiful, I don't mind that she is slow to grow and needs full shade...
My Maya barely grew.. had a bout of catipillars too that lierally stripped her of every leaf overnight too. She is sturggling to stay alive in my atrium right now. Hopefully she will take off in the spring when I put her in the ground.

I don' t know much about these two, but I find it nice that you inquire about their abillity to thrive in your zone. That is a recurring problem that you touch upon. I would be great, if we once could compile a list of Brugmansia hybrids listed according to the zones and climates that they will thrive in. That would spare people for a lot of failures and disappointments.
How to get them saft through the winter period is also worth to list. There will be fewer categories, but still the things that a montane Angel's Trumpet can survive would kill many of the heat loving Trumpets.

mickey, i'm so glad you asked! i've been asking people's opinion as to the most heat tolerant brug. so far, maya and dr. suess seem to be the best. any other recomendations?
Eternity, Georgia peach, Mountain Magic and CG all did good for me last summer in full sun all day. :o)

Miners Claim has disappointed many people, almost impossible to root, hard to keep alive. Many very good growers have long since given up on her. Mine lived for three months then died. She is beautiful, but I know of none who have kept her for long. Snow Bank seems to do well. Maya is wonderful, mine is 5 feet tall and blooms over and over again all summer.
theradlady- I thank you for your advice. I think that you all have save me from loosing my money on Miners Claim.
MyRee- If a brug can take Arizona heat I think it was take heat almost anywere! We are dry however. I think Anglebrug knows far more about Arizona brugs than I. My Cherib is now 2 going on 3 years old.
