Boonies, SD(Zone 4b)

Well, I'm back at work today. School starts in a week and I'm up to my eyeballs in paperwork.
Went on a poker run with the boys on Saturday. #1 son had some problems with his Camaro's carburetor at the end of the run, but it was only a mile from home. #2 son had to take a friend of his for a ride in his '55 after she got married. He is fixing it up really nice. Made the door panels himself and they look sharp. #1 son got an offer of $10,000 for his car, but the guy was a little annebriated, so DS didn't take his check.
Picked a pile of maters yesterday. Have to pick them when they are just turning orange, otherwise the grasshoppers will eat them if they get any riper. Seems like there are hoppers everywhere. Wish I had a few more snakes around to eat them.
Talked DH into letting me have a piece of the front yard for a garden. Going out into the field with my potatoes, squash and cabbage is getting to be a real pain. He promised that he would plow and fertilize before the snow flies, but we will see. He usually stalls with things like that until its too late. The spot I picked is between a row of trees and the feed bunks where he feeds cows. I will have to put up a fence so that the geese won't have lunch in there every day.
Feels like fall here already. Hope it doesn't get too hot when school starts. Packing all those hot little bodies into a building brings up the temp really fast. Fall is one of my favorite times of year, but then it turns into winter. YUK!!
Better get back to work before the boss comes in!!
Have a great day everyone.
