Does Anyone Know These Viburnums?

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

I was looking at these shrubs on e-bay...are they good ones for Texas?
Mapleleaf Viburnum
Mohawk Viburnum
Juddii Viburnum

I have a Juddii , not sure of the exact cultivar. There are a number of my neighbors that have them. I'm guessing if they do so well around here that they like acidic soils. I just put mine in early last Spring and it doubled in size and already has big buds forming for this Spring! The grasshoppers are fond of them, so expect some tattered foliage in the Summer, but they are so stunning in bloom.

I was going to bring you a cutting at the RU but it was air layered and I messed around with it too much and killed the cutting. I'll try to get you another this Spring.

It might not do well here it is very alkaline..we can't grow Dogwoods either, darn it!

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

Most viburnums dont like this area due to the alkaline soil, Josephine might know a native or two that might like it here.

Melva, my Howard Garrett book suggests Viburnum Macrocephalum for a snowball bush. Looks a lot like Juddii, just smaller leaves. "very few problems, should be used more"

He also says that the evergreen Japanese/viburnums are best left to the Southern half of the State. HTH

I just remembered, today I noticed Wally World has bare root viburnum opulus for 5$, plantfiles says it will grow in D/fw area. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/57586/
