Does anyone know what this is please, a goody or a baddy and if it is good can I move it someplace other than on the brugmanisa?
I know the picture is not too clear but I don't want to disturb the web stuff.
Caterpillar? onBrug
fleurone; can you see the caterpillar inside? If that's were the case. It's rather late to move it. It has pupated. Whatever it maybe.
If indeed it was a cat. before it pupates, I'd move it to another plant in the Family of Solanaceae, some of them are common in our garden (although, not particularly kept in the green house at this time of year), such as sweet pepper, chilli pepper ect. There are so many genera of plants in this Solanaceae family that we commonly grow in the garden. That was my plan for the new year. Obtain more of those to plant out to attract the butterflies without harming either my butterflie or my brugs.
Thanks Lily love, I can see the form ( not in detail though ) and it is not moving at all , wondering if I should peel back a weeny part of the web for a better look
At least you can see that it's a caterpillar. Everytime I open a web like that it seems like a spider comes out.
Melanie
lol Melanie I will watch out for those!!.
Jeremy from the fl forum suggested to post it on the new bug forum but he also thought a 'cabbage looper' whatever that is?
Woooohoooo, I like that "maybe"....
Wow, how exciting, congratulation, you're going to be a "Momma" soon. How big is that baby?
I'm so excited for you. Makes me wanna move to Fla. where it's warmer, so I can see cats. and b.f. (and ofcourse Moths) at this time of year.
