Help! Please identify

Midland, GA

I am new to this forum. Can anyone identify this hib? It is a delicate light pink (petaloids) with darker pink around the outer perimeter.

C,
Of ALL the hibs I've been looking at online to complete my Spring Pre-order, I should know that one. Is it blooming outside or inside? My blooms inside are not always true to what they look like blooming outside in summertime.. and always smaller... That one is beautiful. Kyle or Barry or someone will help you with the name.. Very lovely bloom. -B

To my knowlegde this is a garden variety called Raspberry Sorbet.

Aunt B thanks for responding. I recently acquired it and I currently have it indoors. I guess this summer I'll find out what it looks like outside. I live in zone 8 so I can't keep my hibs outdoors year round.

It's really pretty, I like the light baby pink color. Raspberry Sorbet is a lovely name. It may still be "true to it's heritage" down there, but here, once I move them inside in the fall, the colors change a bit and each bloom began being smaller. I guess I think anything higher than my zone 5b is pretty much tropical. It's 21 degrees here, 3 when I drove to work this morning.

Oh Aunt B it's 36 outside and I'm thinking enough already. I don't think I could function at that temp.

I am cold just reading about it. Brrrrrrrrrrr

Raspberry Sorbet IS lovely, congratulations on a good find.

I agree with you guys, it's 60 degrees today and I'm freezing. I can't imagine living in zone 5. Last year I was in Springfield MO in January and I thought I was going to freeze to death. Thanks Ardesia, I absolutely love Raspberry Sorbet. I have a peach hib (got them at the same time) that's identical to Raspberry Sorbet except it is peach.

Gosh - it's a beaut! I wish I had one too - it looks so delicate! Do all the blooms curl back like that? Highly unusual at least for us here in the US Carlo5 - I wouldn't mind at all if it were a garden variety in my garden! :)

Me, either, ultimateshopper! C_Squared, WELCOME to the Hibiscus forum! I've got quite a few hibs, (wintering in my basement under lights) I've started securing plants for spring shipping, as well... none the color of your Raspberry, but I DO want at least one delicate pink one, I'll have to keep my eye out for it as I'm completing my pre-spring reservations. Does it grow bushy or more upright? I really like the bushier ones best, they stand up better in pots in the wind here.

AuntB, it grows quite bushy. I actually have about four plants in one pot. Dbl yellow, dbl red, dbl pink (raspberry sorbet) and a dbl peach. It is really quite spectacular. I am at work, otherwise I would send you pics of what it all looks like. Currently, only the dbl pink and peach are blooming. These I have inside but I plan to put them outside, once the weather is consistently warm, which in my zone is end of March or early April.

Aunt B Here is what the entire plant looks like.

C-Square, that's a beautiful plant!

Oh! It is gorgeous! Look at all those buds! That's a pot full of hibiscus. Are you going to pot it up? I'll bet it would like a bigger pot when it gets to play outside.. Very healthy C! Good hib momma.

Yes, I will definitely be repotting. I can't wait for spring when my hibs will really begin striving and growing.
