Is Cascalia suaveolens a butterfly host and a nectar flower? I have a package of these seeds to share in a bf & hummer seed swap if they are appropriate. http://www.prairiemoon.com/store/template/product_detail.php?IID=298&SID=467d6a73856f16e5e0b2bad68e1326d0 The information I have researched doesn't mention butterflies unless I missed it.
Thanks,
Deborah
Question about Cascalia suaveolens Sweet Indian Plantain
Deborah - I don't remember if it is a host plant, but I am sure it is a nectar plant. It is also a threatened or endangered plant in at least 6 states. See this link: http://plants.usda.gov/java/profile?symbol=HASU3
Thank you for that link Becky. Oh it's native, that's great. Can't put my hands on the package at this moment to read the info. I was actually thinking about another plant when I bought these seeds. Nectar is good. I'll sow it and see what visits.
