If you make biltong at home, no need to have it hanging on a string to dry! I used the American Harvester Food Dehydrator, layering the brined and spiced meat in the trays. 14 hours later I had biltong. A bit too dry for my taste, so I'll cut it down to 12 hours next time I make a batch. One can dry fruits, and veges in the trays provided. Plus with the purchase of special solid trays, one can make Mebos! I'm absolutely delighted to know I can make biltong within a day, from start to finish! Yum!
