Dave's Garden and Butterfly and Hummingbird friends,
Some of you may have already seen the recent thread about New Seed Packets in the Saving Seeds forum. Found Here:
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/799616/
The offer still stands to create some more seed packs that are most popular to us.
It's a pretty cool way to trade your favorite seeds with your friends.
There are already ten (10) packs available, found here:
http://davesgarden.com/files/seedpackets/
And I've sent Dave eight more that are yet to be posted.
The new eight are these:
Asclepias curassavica Scarlet Milkweed
Asclepias tuberosa Butterfly Weed
Coreopsis grandiflora Bigflower Coreopsis
Coreopsis lanceolata Lanceleaf Coreopsis
Coreopsis tinctoria Plains Coreopsis
Cosmos sulphureus Orange Cosmos
Gaillardia pulchella Blanket Flower
Tithonia rotundifolia 'Fiesta Del Sol' Mexican Sunflower
Once Dave gets them posted, I'll post a notice back to the original thread if you'd like to watch that thread.
In the mean time, I'm starting up making more.
If you'd like to offer your suggestions on new seed packets, then just add your suggestions preferrably back to the original thread. Please include a DG Plant File link if available to help me narrow my search.
I'll also be asking you for permission to use pictures of the flowers whos packets I'm working on.
What I typically do is go to the DG Plant File page and look for what pictures are available.
Once I find one that would work, I'll Dmail you privately for permission.
Thanks in advance for your help in this fun project.
As mentioned, the seed packets are not perfect, and may have some typos, and possibly some wrong information, as a plant knowledge database, I am not, but I'll do and try my best.
Have a great week everyone.
Paul
Custom Seed Packets to be offered
Thank you, Paul,
I just printed out a couple evelopes to mail out some seeds for fellow DGer. Thanks for such wonderful idea. Thanks for sharing.
Kim
Kim, You are too good, and a great friend.
Thanks for the post.
I'll be glad to make some for your favorite seeds - if you have some suggestions.
Paul
Oh, my! pford. These are splendid! I had no idea you were creating such beautiful graphics for our DG seed packets!
I'll be sure to print out some to package up my seeds for my neighbors and sisters!
Thank you so much!! t.
errrrhhh, suggestions? Let's me think about that one. lol I've found what you've got going on is THE best as it.
May I have your permission to post the thread on Mid-South?, or better yet, if you'd ask (Dave's admin.) to have the link posted on every Forum as 'Sticky'? That way DGers everywhere will have access to them when needed.
Judy, Thanks for the post. Let me know if you have a few suggestions for some packets you'd like to see. BTW - I'm looking forward to having some new plants from seed you sent me earlier. I'll keep you posted on their progress.
Kim, I appreciate your comments too. You can certainly cross post too.
I'd rather not have it as a sticky though. IMHO, there are sometimes too many stickys going on.
I don't think this deserves that status as sticky.
I have asked Dave about a few ideas I've got for the seed packets, but haven't heard back from him yet. My suggestion to him was that : every seed packet that was created for a certain plant could be made available on its corresponding DG Plant File page as a PDF link. I'm still waiting his response......( Dave - hello... ) :^)
(I know Dave is covered up with request like this)
Thanks again ya'll.
Paul
oh how cool Paul. Thank you. I am printing off some too.
How about some for Scarlet Salvia, Texas Red Star Hibiscus, Clitoria ternatea, Runner Beans, Hyacinth Bean Vine, Asarina Scandens vine, Coral Vine are some many of us plant regularly.

More good ideas, Donna! I was sitting here thinking what other plants are common in my garden beds. I have so many. Some more butterfly and Hummingbird plants that I would love to see seed packets made for them:
Cassia alata http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/371/
Shrimp Plant http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/622/
Lantana http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/578/
Buddleja davidii http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/2864/ (Use photos of from several different cultivars)
Moonflower http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/893/
Thanks ya'll.
I'm working on more tonight.
Your list helps keep me focused.
8^) (I'm cross-eyed now - just kidding)
Be advised, I may be Dmailing you for permission for Picture rights.
Thanks again - good night.
Paul

Paul - YOU ROCK!!! The new seed packets look AWESOME!!! Thanks for creating and sharing them with all of us! I will be using them for sure!!!
They really are a perfect size. Your suggestion on a link from plantfiles to the seed packet is a great idea. For cultivar information on open pollinated seeds that may not come true, could there be a place for a check mark block, "open pollinated" or "parent of", "F1 hybrid". etc? . I'm I making any sense? I'm so tried too.
I'll be using your packets for sure. I'd love to see Echinacea purpurea 'White Swan' and Gaillardia 'Golden Goblin' and others that I have an acre of(almost it seems of seeds). I'll edit a link back to plant files later, Paul.
