Cotoneaster (Cotoneaster horizontalis)
Boy Growin, you sure have been a busy bee today.
I love this bush!!! So delicate looking but so bold.
Thanks Kell, new camera. I thought this plant was more common but in looking online it doesn't seem to be. I've always thought it was an old fashioned shrub. The plant in the pic stands out with it's fishbone structure & red berries against an apartment building entrance.
The berries are so well defined. I think I may have read where you got a new Canon. DId you get a real fancy one?
Actually a Nikon D40 with an extra lens. It is sooo sweet taking a clear picture and capturing the detail I want. There are many of my past pictures I'd like to replace because of, what I consider, poor quality. I just don't understand some of the settings/terminology of cameras. Thank goodness there's an "auto" setting for the moment. Here's some of my other pics: http://www.flickr.com/photos/growin/
The thing that stops me from getting a good camera is I have no clue about settings. I wish I could get private lessons for slow people. LOL
I love your pictures! The Martin Mars Flying Tanker ones are so cool. My favorite is City Snow. Taxodium distichum Enhanced is so cool. Your pic of Asplenium scolopendrium made me want one for myself! The pics of the Sylvia Hotel were the coolest. LOL I would hate to be the resident pruner there.
I also love your little red and white camper esp the one of your dog in the breakfast shot (the first one). You do have a fascination with things that move, preferably old things that move. LOL! Like me. LOL! Stanley Park Fallen Tree was so amazing! I wonder if the earth shook when it fell.
I would say you have a very happy life and sure get around to some pretty places! Thanks for the tour.
Kell, your pics are awesome. I thought you had one of these "good" cameras. My truck is from Mt Shasta/Weed area - bought it online and drove it home. The "enhanced" is in PaintShop Pro - adjust>brightness>clarify. Glad you liked the tour of "the happy life". LOL.
I have Paint Shop. I will have to try the clarify!! Some of mine need all the help I can get. LOL
No, I have a little point and click, a Canon, PowerShot SD950 IS
My older Canon I liked so much better than the one I have now. My secret is I take 1000 pics and 1 or 2 come out.
I am currently debating stepping up a bit and getting a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H9 or the Canon Powershot G9. I need to research on Flicker on which is more popular. The differnece in shrapness is amazing to me when I look at a friend's pics who has a bigger Sony and mine.
OH PS I really want to come for a few days to Vancouver. It looks like such a beautiful place. I know you have some great plant places too.
I upgraded for the same reason. I was throwing out too many pics, more than I was keeping. I found amazon.com had the best prices. You might want to think of stepping slightly further to an SLR for about the same price.
I'd love you to visit! Let me know and I'll be a great host with tons of sights and plant places.
LOL, I really wasn't inviting myself! But how nice of you!! I used to have a friend that lived there right on the water. I always loved her pictures.
I was thinking I would ease my way into an SLR. It isn't the money, it is the confusion on my part. LOL. I look at those and freeze. I do not think I could ever learn them. Also, there is something to be said for small.
