Lets play an Aroids picture game....who's in?

Birmingham, AL(Zone 7b)

Lets play a picture game.

Here's how it goes. I'll start but taking a picture of two or more Aroids in a frame. I'll go second so you guys know what to do. But the next person that would like to play will have to take a picture of their plants and one has to be the same as the person before you. Meaning one of your plants has to be the same as one of the plants in the picture before you. I vote that we don't name the Aroids so it makes it harder. But please jump in if you think someone has posted wrong.

Lets say if you get stumped, you can go up one picture and use something from that. But you must say that is what your doing. To help get this started, I'm going to name the ones in this picture (that I know of).

Common names:
Polly, Phil hybrid, Williams hybrid, not sure about the green one on left.

Here we go:

I don't know the name of the green one, but it looks close to your big green one....Please correct me if not same, or if you know name.

This is a better pic. of the Philodendron. I did"nt take many pics. this summer. Now planted in separated pots with a few little plants mixed in with them. Jerry

OK, I'm not stumped, I just don't have either of those...lol But this looks fun.....could I post a pic from 2 posts up?

shadowpaige if those are growing indoors they're doing really well.

Birmingham, AL(Zone 7b)

All mine is indoors. I keep a room 80 degrees during the day and 68 at night. Go ahead and play from any of the pic's. I would love for this game to continue. But the rules may be to hard as stated. So new rule:

Post Pic and name what post your Aroid is in.

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

OK, in the foreground is the one from shadowpaige's last pic, Post #4429664

If you really squint you can see another in the background...lol...should be an easy one

shadowpaige, those look great, better than what I have in the GH, the temps fluctuate wildly

going up to Tropicanna's last picture, I see Illustrius in the background.
Here is a Frydek.

I'am still looking for pics. Jerry

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

my Frydek looks pathetic....lol

Red Oak, TX

Can I get a do-over and replace the last picture with this one.
I see Tropicanna's Illustrius. There are three more in this frame;
Lutea, portodora. and colocasia tea cup.

Ok, I swear this is Illustrius not Black Beauty. Since I've brought it inside it has developed some really dark leaves. That's A. Gigantea in the background

My Variegated Alocasia

More and more I like Variegated plants. Looks like this game is to hard. Being there is only 4 of us playing. I thought for sure there would be people out there trying to one-up us. I was stagging the plants to keep the game going. Everyone going to the Big Ear Fest? So as a date is locked in, I'll start making set plans. I've already talked to some friends down there.

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

I don't think it's too hard, it's just that my plants don't look as nice as you guys...lol.
but anyway, it's fun.....this picture is from a couple months back when I actually had leaves on most of my plants

very nice

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

well, let's go shadow, I want to see what you've got next

if you saw those plants now you'd laugh, I couldn't believe it myself when I saw these pictures how much difference 20 degrees can make

Red Oak, TX

Most of my pictures were taken last summer. They are not as healthy looking as Tropicannas right now.
Here is Hilo beauty and Wentii.

that is stout looking! I have hardly have any alocasias, but I like looking. I don't do as well with them and most aren't hardy here

rita, lol, I might just have to take a picture of my GH so you can see the near-casualties in there. Nighttime temps average @50, but a few nights it's gotten to 40. I just hope I don't lose most of the new ones. That picture looks great, how are you keeping yours over winter?

Red Oak, TX

Tropicanna, I have a greenhouse built over my beds, all I have to do in the spring is uncover it. I try to keep it around 50. I have have a few rotten bulbs already.

Birmingham, AL(Zone 7b)

Tropicanna, what are the little EE's in the dead middle in green pot? It looks like a little Williams hybrid but I'm not for sure.

Shadowpaige, Dont worry every one will have tons of pictures this spring, summer. I know Placenciarita and myself will be taking tons. Now that i have a new camera and do'nt have to buy film anymore. Will be taking pic. every day. My favorite tropicals are aroids .The bigger the better and if they are variegated better still. Jerry

rita, now you were actually thinking when you sited your GH....wish I could have done that

shadow-if I've got it right, I think you're talking about the Variegated A. Odora (there's a gageana behind it)

I had to put myself to bed early last night so I'd be up at 2 am...but Jerry, nice choice. Luckily I have lots of Yellow Splash plants. There's at least 4 aroids in this picture iof you look carefully...hopefully when you look at the big picture you can see the yellow splash leaf

I see the mickey mouse, and I have alocasia portei.

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

rita, I think that's a baby yellow splash runner that came out really cute and crinkly...lol. here's the only mickey mouse pic I could find...if you really have good eyes you might barely be able to see the colocasia midnight leaf wilted over in the background with the Japanese Beetle damaged hibiscus skeleton
