I think that I read this in Hoya form but I was think about this and wondered if this wood work?
At Holiday time or I think any time you can buy rope lites in all different colors and I was thinking I did use thr rope Lites under my cabnets to lite it up a bit but wath about connectting to plant stands I also reat that a 3 foot rope lite is about 17 or 18 watts has anyone tryed this I will go and see if I can find what I read about the lite. I also think that if you have starters that wood heat them also.

Ok I found the site but this will make a heat matt with the rope lights

I wonder if it will work on the plants that need the lite

That's a great link! Heatherjoy found it a while back, too, and I put it into an upcoming article on heat mats. I think the rope lights would provide heat for your AVs, but I don't know if they'd provide a significant amount of light. They do give off light, but they don't seem bright compared to the lights on my stand.

I think that the plant lite have more wattage then the rope but I am not working as I have a seasonal job in construction and the road crew is layed off for now It won't hurt if I try the lite around the shelfs if anything I will be ables to see when it is dark and that gets to be dark out about 4:45pm I going to try and see what happens either it works or I get a high electric bill

I don't really see a big electric bill difference with 8 gro light stands in the house...... That would be 4 48" gro lights to a stand or 32 48" gro lights and I can only see a difference of maybe 15 or 20.00 a month. That is a lot of joy for me for 15 bucks a month.
