Hello farmers. We just got back home after our farm club meeting and potluck. We met in a big old house that was a stagecoach overnight stop. The original house has been remodeled into a very nice family home, but as a stagecoach stop there were 6 guest rooms upstairs, with a dining room, kitchen and parlor on the main floor. If the walls could talk, the stories they could tell.Wouldn't it be fun to take a look back into the past?! The coaches then continued on through my area, probably about a mile away where the highway is now. It follows the old road and in some cases was built on top of it. As we go to town we can see parts of the old roadbed, it was a very crooked road that followed the contours of the land. Probably the present highway is several miles shorter. Ah, the "good old days"! Fun to dream about but I don't think I would want to be transported back to live in them.
