Anyone know the name of this one?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

It is just HUGE and growing in the Conservatory of Flowers in San Francisco. They have a few really nice ones.

Kell, that looks like maybe a High Voltage to me (?). Beautiful bloom though!

Nederland, TX(Zone 9a)

I would guess french connection or high voltage. Here is a PIC of a French connection.

It is so sad, but so true.

I found this picture of it that I took last year. See how huge it is.

My first instinct was maybe junes dragon? A day or two old?

Mol, Belgium(Zone 8a)

Kell, I would say that is Living Legend.

Yep - I'd say Living Legend also - check it out at HVH (has multiple pictures)http://www.hiddenvalleynaturearts.com/acatalog/livinglegendinfo.html

Seems like a huge plant would argue for the oldie, High Voltage, popular everywhere for at least ten years. Looks like a dead ringer for HV to me.

So Kell, are there a bunch of hibbies over at the Conservatory? I haven't been over there in the last few years, but if they've got lots of hibiscus I may have to make the trip and check them out!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Yes Cat, I think a bit old! You have a good eye! The anthers are getting thin. LOL

Hi Carlos, Mr. Hibiscus!! Good to see you here again.

Thank you all, you all are so much more knowledgeable than I am on these.

Liz, not worth a trip all the way around. Of course I had to pick the one day that was bring your kids and get in free. Shoot, I am way past my kid days. So crowded and so loud. I met Lali there. As far as hibiscus, they have about 5, and they must love it there for as I was organizing my pictures from there the other night from over the last 3 to 4 years, I have pics of the same hibiscus over and over. LOL. Right now there were only 2 in bloom and I think 1 had 1 bloom and 1 had 2 or 3 blooms. Not too much exciting at all there. And my favorite place, the pond room, had NOTHING in the water. All must be dormant. I was so disappointed. I had driven over too all by myself. I never do that. It is traumatic. LOL

I wanted to go to Flora Grubbs but I stayed at the Arboretum till 5. That too was not very exciting except for 1 or 2 moments.

OK, guess I won't bother then! Have you been to Flora Grubb's since they moved? I went back in November and it's so much nicer than their old place, it's much larger and there's actually parking within 5 miles of it, which is always a plus when you're buying lots of plants! I still don't like driving into the City so I probably won't go more than a couple times a year, but they do have great plants (I love Aussie plants and they have tons of them!)

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

AaaHaa, so finally soneone has been there. After seeing so many blurbs about that place I am glad to hear it has some special plants.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I haven't been there even before it moved. But after reading what you have said in the past about it Liz, I sure want to go. My only goal in life is to go to every nursery in the state. LOL

Alice, I will let you know what I find there!
