There are some interesting things going on in Fredericksburg in spring and I was wondering if anybody would be interested in a group trip. I've never mastered the hyperlink thing, but you can find out more if you google Fredericksburg, Tx and click on the Chamber of Commerce site. It's all on the calendar there, but the things that caught my eye are as follows:

Fredericksburg Herb Farm Herb Fest April 18 - 20, 08
Lavender Trail May 17 - June 30, 08

Not trying to but in here--and I did not go myself; but my dad, who is retired in San Antonio, took his wife to the Lavender Trail festival last year and they just loved it.

Thanks for the input Dmj. The lavender thing sounds very interesting to me too. Of course, it would be a separate trip, but hey I'll welcome DGer's anytime of the year.:)
The street I live on stops just a little past my house, so there's usually lots of street parking available there. We live on a corner and the cross street also stops at my house, so there's not a lot of traffic and there's a vacant lot across the street, so curb parking doesn't bother the land owner. So if people want to leave their car and carpool around to the different places that would be fine.
Thanks for posting the info, silverflutter. I've already set myself a few "reminders", including the Bluebonnet Trails Gourdfest in April. I am a bit disappointed, though, that they don't have the Lone Star Gourd Festival on the list, which will be held at the Gillespie County Fairgrounds (October 18/19) . . . unless that's not really near Fredericksburg?
Hmmm, well the fairgrounds is right on the edge of town. I don't know why it's not on the calendar unless it's because there is a fee required to put something on the list and the people running the fest don't want to pay it. I've never been to a gourd fest, so I don't know anything about them. Sorry.:(
