Can some one ID this clematis?

Rougemont, NC(Zone 7a)

This is a late summer blooming clematis, does any one know the name of it, I'd like to get another one to grow on an arbor in the backyard. This one is beautiful when it gets enough rain. This one is about 29 foot long and usually covers the whole side of the fence like carpet.

Hope that there is someone who can ID it. It's beyond me without a photo of the flower. Perhaps you could describe them. How big are they, what form and what color?

It almost looks like "Sweet Autumn Clematis"...Jeanne

Does not Clematis Sweet Autumn have white flowers?

Willis, TX(Zone 8b)

Tara..I don't know about your Computer monitor but the blooms are white on mine..unless you are mistaking the red bush in front as a clematis..Jeanne

jeanne, the flowers are very small white flowers and it has small leaves as well . I will do a search for sweet autum and conpare them. The red bush is called a burning bush. I took it from a cutting about 4 years ago'

thank you jeeper

jeanne, you are right it is a sweet autumn. If it is fragant it is very light. I will try to find a couple of more this spring.

Jeeper..check around your plant for seedlings..."Sweet Autumn Clematis" is known to be very prolific...dropping seeds and germinating everywhere..enjoy..lucky you!!..Jeanne

Hey Jeeper,
Jeannie is right about them dropping seeds. We literally dug up hundreds of babies and put them in some long pots to "grow up". Then, we traded extras on gardenweb for stuff we didn't have yet.
