Hi mamajack, I have monarda citridora, I'll trade for the goats rue.
Robin
robin i already got the monarda coming. and i will say this about the goat's rue...it's almost impossible to transplant plants. long tap root and you just about can't move a hair or the plant will die, much like a poppy. the other thing i just read today is that the seeds are hard to germinate so i don't think just a few is going to give you much success. i can send you a dozen if you like which is about all i have left. i bought an ounce and have sowed them 3 different ways in hopes of getting a plant.
if you want them i recommend planting them in those jiffy pots in case you do get a plant you can just stick it right into the ground. or direct sow them in the bed you want them. last spring jackieshar sent me a very large clump of goat's rue in the mail. looked good when it got here but all but one little plant died within a few days. unfortunately i placed the clump in a pot to be able to protect it until they got acclimated and that one little plant did well and grew. but in the fall i took it out of the pot to put it in the soil and it was dead in a day or two. so lmk what you would like me to do. thanks for the help. barb
Around here I don't need any finicky plants, the family is bad enough. I really didn't need it I was just going to try it so you could have the monarda. But thanks anyway.
mamma, i have
lilac datura
datura tatula
triple yellow datura
if you're interested send me a SASE and write on it datura
Mamma,
I have quite an extensive seedlist on which, I think, are some varieties that your French kid would like.
It may be better if he/she and I could come in direct contact so we may skip US customs......
thanks everyone. i have contacted my guy to see if he wants the datura and tuinkabouter i asked if it was o.k. if i gave his name to you. i'll get back to you both when i hear from him.
