Stray cat with bonus!!

Anderson, SC(Zone 7b)

LOL I swear, every time I say I'm not taking another critter in, here comes another one....

I just put down one of my cats a couple of weeks ago and was adamant about not taking in any other critters for a while. I have severe asthma & COPD (lung disease) and it gets very hard sometimes keeping up with the 2 dogs & 2 cats I have, plus a "forest" dog I feed.

So what happens? Along comes a kitty skulking around my house, looking like it's staying under my house, and then it starts limping. (can you see me rolling my eyes) She meowed at me one night, but I couldn't see her in the dark, then she was gone.

But she came out in the daylight to cry at me the other day when it was in the teens at night, so I took her out some food & water, which she voraciously ate & drank. That was that! I don't think she's left my deck for more than a few minutes since, and I'm feeding her quite a bit twice a day because she's so hungry. I put a thick old blanket in some nesting chairs I have in a corner out there, and that's her permanent perch.

She's a sweetheart, young, a pretty little tortoise-shell, and probably a drop off; it was most likely her sibling that I saw dead on the side of the highway a few weeks ago because it had the same rare tortoise-shell coloring. I opened my can of Pepsi out on the deck the other day and she came running, so she's used to hearing a can of cat food being opened, and was probably a house cat. She even let my dogs sniff her this morning, but she can't come in the house until I get her to the vets for testing & shots.

And I realized last night while petting her that she's pregnant - the BONUS!! Geez, why don't people get their freaking animals fixed???

Anyone want some kittens? lolol
