I would love to try to plant some. I don't have anything to trade yet, but could make it an I O U ? :)
CLOSED: Does anyone have Wave Petunia Seeds?
Hi and welcome to Daves. I see you've just signed up so you probably arent familiar with Plant Files yet. If you look the tabs up top you'll see Guides and Information. Click on that and you'll see Plant Files. Click on that and you'll see in a green box, Search for Plants.
I Already did a search for you. Here is an index of Wave Petunia listed in Daves. When you click on a particular one you will see vendors who have this for sale and/or member has or want's this plant for trade. Click on that and see who has it .. then d-mail them and as if they would like to trade for an IOU or SASE.

I have some Coastie. Send me a sase and I'll send them along. Just be aware, they take forever to germinate.

I was under the impression that the Wave Petunias are hybrids and would not come true from seed
Has anyone saved seeds and gotten good results.
They are normally sold in pellet form, with only 10-15 seeds per pack.
They are also trade marked
I tried WS'ing wave petunias last year, with no luck.
Coastie -- are there any other seeds you;d be interested in growing?
I know there are a few members currently offering free seeds to New Daves Members.
check other threads in this forum.
btw -- Welcome to Daves
Terese
You are right .. they won't come true from seeds .. see if you can get some cuttings.

The seeds that I have are the packets that I used to get mine. Only a few germinated and the ones that did are still blooming even now. So I will be glad to share what I have.
Anne
PS if I have time when I get home I'll send a picture of them.
They are still blooming in TX? Wow! I brought in one pot that I managed to overwinter so far. They are in a semi sunny window, no blooms only leaves.
I won a flat of 18 of the Shock Wave petunias last summer in a contest. They were testing new colors and I still haven't received the survey to answer on how they did. :(
I shared with my dad in Al. I put them in hanging pots for him on his front porch and he told me that hummingbirds ate there every day. He was amazed at how close they got to him sitting on the porch:) I'll look and see if I have a pic of the colors they sent. They were pretty, even sent metal plant markers with a hanging tag with the plant name/color on them.

Oh, if I have any seeds on them, I'll let you know too...
And to top that, they are in a hanging planter on the railing of my front porch and have been since last spring and are still blooming. We've had temps down into the 20's about 3 or 4 times so far.
Anne
Unbelievable!!!!! I can't believe mine survived the drought either. What kind, if any, fertilizer have you used on them? I think mine need a dose of something.
I don't see any seeds but will keep this post flagged in case I do.
Susan
None. I have them in my talavera pots hanging on the rail. Direct afternoon sun, I just watered daily.

I am interested in growing anything really...I just was very impressed by those...they were one of the first things I tried, but I got them already started from Walmart I think...they lasted for so long and grew SO big I could not believe it.
Thanks for your help everyone. Have a great day!
Well like I said they take a long time to germinate, though I really didn't take any special pains so I could have done better. However, very hardy. Mine are still going strong. I'm out of town right now but will take some pictures this next week and send you.
Anne
Coastie wife, send me your address and I'll get you some seed in the mail. I checked and there were a few pods with seeds on them. Not too many, but enough to hopefully get you some started.
Susan
