Guess what kind of chicken I am!!

So, I got this adorable pullet from freecycle. The previous owner listed her as a buff orpington, but she can't be, can she? I thought they were buff! LOL! She was hatched in august, so she is about 5 months old and is not laying yet. Here are two pictures of her. Any guesses?

Here is a portrait :)

and here she is with part of the Coop D'Etat gang, for size comparison.

My orpingtons are "blue" (a lovely gray color) and black....she doesn't seem to look like an orpington or have their body shape...hmmmm

I do love your whole "Coop d'Etat"...cracks me up every time

Thanks! * blush*

I don't think she has the body for it either. Maybe she is a white rock or a leghorn. Anyone know much about those?

Here's a picture of one of my white rocks, they are sweet little girls. I have one that jumps up on the bottom door of their coop when I open the top, (I secretly think she wants a pet, but more then likely she's trying to get out, lol!)

She looks a lot like my white leghorn, but my
girl has a huge floppy comb. Although my
leghorn can lay a jumbo egg every day when it's
warm, she never goes broody. I have read they
are not setters, and are bred for production eggs.

She looks like she could be an Americauna. Just about the right size. Here's a pic of two of mine they're full sisters, one has the feathers under her eyes and the other one doesn't. They're 7 months and their combs were pretty small at 5 months. The next pic is of their mom, she is a cross between a Buff Orpington hen and an Americauna rooster. These girls dad is a Barred Rock, that's where they got their color.

Her head with the small comb is 'Americauna-ish'.
I guess the only way to know that for sure is when
she lays an egg.

that's so true. My guess for now is white rock, but who knows?
