Look what made it thru the frost

I was so worried that we were getting a frost this past week that I quickly brought in and covered my Plumerias but couldn't figure out how to protect my trellis Passifloras. (ON it is Lady MArgaret, Trilobo, Violacia, and Belotti as well as 2 other that are no named as of right now.) We are now a few days after the frost (32 degrees on Thursday and now we are at 72) and look what popped...my Trilobo flowers that I thought were going to be gonners!! I have about 4 of them open right now.

Chris, Triloba is suprisingly somewhat cold hardy, especially when planted in the ground. Of course it won't surive snow but a slight frost won't bother it much. If you get frost a lot, that might be a different case but it can be planted here in So Cal as well.

That is so cool to know. It is Waynes favorite plant and funny thing, the only one blooming now except for a Lady Margaret here and there as well as my little biflora blooming. We have had maybe 15 blooms in the last week or so.

Chris, I am starting to envy you guys in the southern States as I look out at my snow covered greenhouse. We're into our twelve day of snow already this winter with about three more months to go before I can even think about turning off the furnace in there. I wish we only had the occasianal frost to worry about. All of the passion flowers in my garden are under about four inches of snow today and not looking nearly as happy as yours!

Sending you a sunshine kiss for your flowers

Jim, Chris said that we all can move into her place and use her Florida weather to grow our plants in her yard as well, right Chris???
