Just hit the greenhouse and found an azalea I am not familiar with. The leaves are very dark, and leaf tips are red. It is called Crimson Majesty Azalea. (rhododendron Indicum) It looks like the normal formasas, but much prettier foliage. Tag on it says from 6 to 8 feet, and the fuchsia that you normally get on the formosa blooms. Has anyone in the houston area grown this beauty??
Anyone have information about Crimson Majesty Azalea?
never even heard of it - but wow what a great thing if it really has red tips on the leaves, year round color!!
I put it in between 2 of the normal formasas, and it looked so good I went back and bought another one. The TAG says they leaf tips stay red all year, we will see. Even if they don't the foliage is a beautiful color, kinda like a lorapetalum.
Very nice, even without the red good looking - what more can you ask for.
