oldie becomes new again

Hi all. I was a member to DG back in 2001 (I think). I didn't realize how much I missed this place until I received an e-mail last month from a new gardener in my area. My gardens have gone downhill and I need to get them back up to snuff. I used to run a daylilly co-op back in the day. I plan on starting at least annuals by seed in the upcoming months. I quit saving seed a couple of years ago when my son was born (go figure that is when the weeds took over also), so I don't have any seeds viable for trading. I still have a few seeds in fridge - but doubt if they will germinate from being so old.

I have 3 children, ages 13, 10 and oops 3 (don't know what I would do without him today!). All boys. I am married. I teach preschool 3 days a week. Other than preschool in the past 2 years, I have been a stay at home mom.

I love to bead bracelets and necklaces, some earrings also. I am not as good at it yet as some I have seen posted here though. I also enjoy rubber stamping - although with a 3 year old it can be quite challenging.

Welcome back. You should test your seed for germination rate, you may be pleasantly surprised at the amount of viable seed you still have. :)

dignbloom--we have a bit in common--i have 4 kids but am older than you and am done teaching preschool--my oldest 2 are out of the house and on their own--the other two are on thier way!! i was a stay at home mom for years and years and years!! i also do rubber stamps and make a bit of jewelry! i lived in indiana for 13 years and of course i am a gardener and dave's gardener!! anyhow -welcome back

planolinda, nice to meet you. I have one more year of preschool, but will probably stay there since I really enjoy it (if the kindergarden schedule allows for it). The schedule meets those of the boys in school, so if they're off, I'm off. And my small paychecks take care of the stamps & beads.

oh i know--i always had a little money coming in somehow--and still was stay at home mom for most part--now i am back at work but i am so happy for those years at home with the kids!!
