Newb from Mississippi Gulf Coast...

Saucier, MS(Zone 8b)

My hubby gave me a subscription for Christmas :o)

We lost our home and 100+ trees in Hurricane Katrina. Since then, I've been obsessively researching edible landscaping, permaculture, forest gardening, green building, sustainability, etc. to rebuild our house and land better than before. I planted ~40 fruit trees and berries last spring and will be ordering more this year.

Is there a place to request new forums? I would love a "Gulf Coast Gardening" forum listed in the US Regional Gardening Forums section. I don't really fit in Mid-South or any of the other forums.

Hi imanerd,
Welcome
I second the idea of having a Gulf Coast Gardening forum, not sure what the process is though.
I have been using the Hurricane Katrina forum.

I too lost my home to Katrina, not sure how many trees, but not 100+, actually removed the last dead on a couple of months ago!

We are having a Plant Swap, April in Ocean Springs, I will send you the link to your D Mail.
Cheers
Cath

Just wanted to welcome you to Dave's and extend an invitation to Mid South Forum. You will find wonderful friendly people there and quite a few from Miss. It helps to find a home forum with people from your area to answer questions.
Anyway WELCOME TO DAVES Cindy
