Someone took credit for HIS idea!

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

They were having a runoff problem during rainy weather at work and the engineers were out planning the big fix. They decided to put in a drain pipe and a grilled drain. After they left I looked at the area and I told my DH that what they should do is put in a small speed bump to divert the water to the desired run off area and then an open trench to carry it on down the hill to the large drain below. That would solve their problem with the water and force some of the speed demons to slow down as they went through the entry.

Well, they put in a little 6 inch drain and surprise, surprise, the problem did not get much better since most of the water was going on down the drive and pooling in the area below that they needed to keep dryer. What water that did reach their little drain soon backed up and joined it in the pool.

Out came the bosses and engineers again and DH, with me sitting next to him, calmly says, "I gave this some thought and it seems to me like a simple solution would be a speed bump there to divert the water and an open trench down the hill to take it to the big drain below."

Today one of those engineers was out with a worker showing him where to put the speed bump and trench when one of the bosses arrived to tell DH an I that HE had come up with a plan for a speed bump and trench idea to fix the drainage problem.

After he left DH seriously looked at me and said "can you imagine the nerve of that guy taking credit for MY idea!" LOL "Nope, I can't imagine a guy doing that!"
