Do seed pods ever get wierd growths on the outside? I have one that has some type of fleshy growth on the outside..it is not a bug or scale (which was my first thought) it looks sort of like plant tissue and is firm.. I scratched some off and can't see any holes in the pod or anything. Never had this happen before... Has anyone else?
seed pod question
Can you get a pic?
I've never had it happen to any of my Brug seedpods, but bacterial and viral infections can cause distortions and extra growth of tissues. I don't know whether it affects the seeds themselves. Maybe someone who knows will come along and provide the answer. It could affect only the vegetative tissue leaving the seed unaffected. Meanwhile, it might be wise to be careful when growing the seed and be on the look out for anything unusual. Forgo trading the seed.
I scratched it all off so you can't see it now. It looks just dry where the gowth was today. I will just watch it and seed if anything else occurs. It was a rosemond x NOL, if anything else grows on it I'm gonna pull it off lol.
