Light bulb just went of. Do these plants get invasive? My backyard is on a big lagoon and these would look cool. Not sure if they would make it through one of my winter. I do get frost but I would think right above the water would never get that cold.

Anyone have first hand experience with growing these outside and out of the tropics? I know they grow in upper Fla.

Okay did some reading and these are doable. Looks easy enough to use a fish tank heater and large plastic tub to get them going. I'm thinking the lagoon is warm enough from June to October which should be enough time to put on some size. Think I'll give it a try.

I was looking at the link provided up above. Looks easy enough to get seeds from them. I'm going to request V. cruziana. Unless I'm missing something you just send a couple of forms to them and $4.60 in postage. Looks like they're very serious about these plants so I'm willing take keep some exact records and pictures to report back to them.

yes i was going to do that too but thought you might have already gotten some lol thxs
