I planted a slew of ixia bulb 2 or 3 weeks ago. They've begun to poke their leaves through the dirt. I'm no expert on ixia, by any means, but it seems a bit early in the season to me. Will they survive the winter? Am I going to have to protect them now? I should really ask these questions before I go and put things in the ground, huh? I learn better from mistakes though.
[picture is obvioiusly not of MY ixia]
Sprouting too soon?
di .. everything in our area is confused .. the warm spell we had a few weeks ago convinced a lot of plants that winter was over .. Just keep an eye on the weather and when it looks like hard freeze is on the way, mulch them really well, or you can dig them up and plop them dirt & all in a window box that you can bring into the house.
