Judgement day..canna bulbs, too cold in garage?

Des Moines, IA(Zone 5a)

I recieved canna bulbs from a free cycler on a cold day in late October, They've been in the garage ever since (I totally forgot) ---- I keep a bottle water in my car in the garage & it has never froze up yet .... do you think my canna's will be ok for spring planting if I bring them into the house now?
Thanks - Jill

Mom~ did your bottled water freeze to total ice?... I keep my canna tubers in a brown paper bag with paper towels between each layer of tubers in the garage then I replant them in the spring. Make sure they're not stored in a plastic bag nor in a plastic closed container. Make sure they receive good air circulation and they should be fine. Of course there are many different techniques, but I go for easy and this always work well for me.

Thanks Garden6! I think I'll bring them indoors just to be safe, the water in my car has not froze yet but it usually does.

You're welcome! You could also just place a cardboard box over the tubers for extra insulation and bring them to a "warmer" site in the garage. Either way let us know how they survive and recover in the Spring.

Will do , I did bring them into the house because I was worried that I'd go to all the trouble of planting in spring with out production, wish me luck!
