White Crepe Myrtle seeds

San Antonio, TX

I have harvested white crepe myrtle seeds and have let them dry. I'll be separating the pods and seeds and will offer for SASBE; if anyone is interested, please Dmail me.

Are the seeds the pod like things hanging off of them at this time of year?

I would also be interested in knowing about the seeds? I have tons of what 'looks' like seed pods, but not sure. If, in fact, this is what they are, I could offer Regal Red and Tuscarora. :)

After the crepe myrtles bloom the pods turn brown. They are the round little things after the flowers drop off. I allow them to semi dry on the trees then cut them off and let them dry in a paper bag. (I dont care for the look of them on the tree when they are brown and dont want them falling all over the yard) Then I pick a time when I can separate them and offer to whom ever wants/needs some. I could just trade them in the pod but i dont like receiving seeds in chaff so I clean them up. I'll try to take some pics of the cleaning process.........

Cool, Thank you for the info.
