Does anyone grow streptocarpella? I would love to get a plant of it.I had a cutting last summer but it did not make it.I have a plant of saxorum that looks alot like it with white flowers & is doing very well. Thats what reminded me of streptocarpella.

mrsbonnie,
There is a nursery close that had them (I think they will have them after Christmas, too) for 5.95 and they were 9" baskets.

I will check when my friend comes in after Christmas as I am sure we will be plant hunting.
(Mine looks too pathetic.....so I may chunk it.....and get another.........can either send cuttings or plant)

The blooms were a purple blue.

I absolutely adore the Streptocarpella!

Plant files shows two different ones both with purple flowers but I think I remember seeing one in PF awhile back with white flowers too - just can't find it right now for some reason. Here's the one with purple flowers:

I have a little plant that I got from RainGazer in a trade last summer. I think it's the one called Concord Blue, but I'm not certain. It's just a little plant and it's not looking so hot right now either! My sister in North Georgia has really huge pots of this growing on her deck every summer that are absolutely beautiful! They sell them at a nursery near her as annuals. I tried to tell my sister that she could keep her plants alive all year if she would just put them in her beautiful sun room but she prefers to just buy new every spring.

Hi There;
Concord blue was the plant i had a cutting of that did'ent make it. It is such a pretty plant that i would love to get another of.I really can't figure out why the cutting did'ent do so well as it had roots , but it just did'ent do well from the beginning.The saxorum i have looks so much like it but does not have furry leaves & the flower is white, so there is a difference..Thanks so much for the info, i really appreciate it.

That is so pretty! I love the white flower! I can't find any listing for white flowered ones except Kartuz Greenhouse has a white flowered one called Snow Flurry but no photo. The only saxorum I found in PF is the one with blue flowers.
