Diehard, you may need some grief counseling.

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

lol... some was expected, but i was not happy when i came home on tuesday. thepoinsettia and plumeria and bromeliad are keeping me going, as well as my new greenhouse that is coming in a few weeks!!!!

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

De-nile. We do get frost and you will have tropicals drop dead on you. Let's repeat that over and over. The trick is to find the ones that come back year after year. My EE's just wilt and drop ever year. When? Who knows but it will happen. They come back the next year just fine. In fact they multiply. I have others that die and won't be coming back, LOL. You can't fight mother nature. You can fool around on the edges though.

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

yep.... i do have one good microclimate though.... i'm gonna try to move more things there. seems that the giant BOP and the poinsettia are the one that i will have to work to protect. didn't you put a s. reginae in the ground? or is that another person? if you did, how'd it do?

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

Yes it's in the ground and doing fine. Doesn't look burnt or anything.

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

same with my small one... i guess those are just easier to protect

Ewwwww! I know exactly how you feel! My garden was in that state last month after the first freeze .. then it got so warm everything was putting on new growth! Finally had another hard freeze and everything was finally killed off.
