shop light question

Mansfield, TX(Zone 8a)

I just got my new chrome five shelf stand put together, and will be going tomorrow to get the lights. I think Gail said the best place for the lights was Wally World, but do I want the two light fixtures or the four?

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

i was just at Walmart this week buying fixtures and full spectrum bulbs. You need one fixture for each shelf which would mean you would need two light bulbs for each fixture.
The fixtures in white here are 8.00 each and the bulbs (with the eco something label) run about 6.00 or 6.50.

Have fun and good luck.............

Thanks! Are the full spectrum bulbs the "sunshine" ones?

let me go see what the outside says on the cover of my lights...............the brand Walmart carries here is GE and says Eco Lux........aquarium & plant lights..............

Thanks a bunch. When I get this all set up, I'll try to get someone to take pictures to post - my camera cratered :-(

we would love to see what you do!

Got my lights and light bulbs - DH and I spent about 45 minutes discussing the bulbs but I finally won out with full spectrum. I don't know why he cared since my dad was paying :-) I am hoping to get all set up tomorrow and get DD to take pictures to post.

You will be really happy with the wide or full spectrum. The warm cool combination will do seeds but not as good for plants...........

Oh, look forward to seeing your new set-up! I am so happy with my light stands! I wish I had room for a few more LOL, but my house is very small and there's barely enough room for anything more. I have one small plant stand with lights in the master bedroom, two in the little guest room, one in the little study area and a small terrarium on a table in the living room. I have regular houseplants sitting all over the house that aren't under lights too. My house and porch and deck are a total mess so as soon as the holiday is over I am beginning my Spring cleaning! :) While hubby is off from teaching he is going to pressure wash the pool deck and I will re arrange plants out there and do a thorough cleaning of that area as well as the Florida room. You can't even sit on the furniture in the Fla room or on the deck because of plants, pots and stuff piled up. It sure will be nice to get it all neat and tidy again!

I will be watching for your photo's of your new plant stand. I know you will be smiling big time when it's all arranged with the plants under their lights.

I just replaced a burned out bulb over my Episcias with the 'Sunshine' one. I've never used that one before. We'll see...

Well, we finally got it all set up, and boy do my plants look sad. They should be much happier now. My camera cratered but I'll try to get daughter to take pictures for me.

how exciting and we can't wait to see what you have done to make a plant haven!
