Thank you for jumping in. I didnt even try to figure out what was what.I was too overwhelmed with the whole Rain Forest and the 2000 butterflies.
2000, wow! I love to go to the tropical butterfly conservatories, they have one in Houston and it's so awesome!
**sniff sniff**
I wish we had butterflies here longer ... and certainly more beautiful ones.
I need to find a way to attract more. I'm trying to get more butterfly friendly plants... hopefully that would work.
that blue one is stunning!!
How exciting to be able to go there. Nice pics...is that all (lol) ?
Bravo!! Very nice.
rylaff...where exactly is niceville? sounds like a nice place to live...no pun intended...ok pun was intended...
Very pretty pictures. : )
What is that blue blooming plant in post # 4385879. I like it. : )
~Lucy
Hi Lucy,
I grew it from seed 1-06... Speedwell, Veronica...I am starting some seeds of it this week...if they germinate well would you like me to send you some seedlings (or seeds) I am checking to see if the seeds are still viable as I harvested them later then I intended to....ahhhh the best laid plans right!
You bet, I would love to have some, if you get them up. : ) They are very pretty, and my kind of plant. I will pay the postage, gladly.
~Lucy
I will let you know Lucy as soon as I see some germination...I am marking you down in my notebook now so I won't forget...I am very new to gardening and germination techniques but I am trying get the most out of the GH my BF got me 12/06....I had real good luck last year with most of the seeds I tried...so keep your fingers crossed and feel free to dmail me anytime if you think I have forgotten you!
Deanna
Ok, thanks Deanna. I'll write myself a note also. Hopefully, I will remember where the note is. lol You better keep that BF. : )
~Lucy
Oh he's a keeper for sure Lucy! We've known each other 12 years and lived 700 miles apart until I moved to SC permanantly 4 yrs ago- he is a friend of my bestfriend who lives in SC and she introduced us years ago....when I moved here 4 years ago it was kizmit when we saw each other again and this christmas he gave me an engagement ring...I didn't think he could top the GH but he did! LOL
That sounds like you 2 were meant to be. I love good stories like that. Have you set a date?
Actually, Niceville is a nice place to live. Right next to Destin Florida.Nestled right on the bayou and just across the bridge from the gulf of mexico. We are up in the Northwest part of Florida. Not far from Pensacola and Panama City.
Nice shots of the bf both of you! I will have to visit the tropical butterfly conservatory in Houston, thanks Fly for mentioning it. Here at FW Botanical Garden they released butterflies inside their conservatory one year and it was so neat to see them up close, watch them eclose from all the different chrysalis they had etc. But it was only a temporary show, and not a permanent exhibit. A friend and I went from work to see it and I didn't get pictures! I intended to get back on the weekend but life happened.
No bfs here now....enjoying the pictures!
Blue - we are tossing around 8-8-08, 9-9-09, 6-7-8 and 7/11 ( I like this one best...when it's anniversary time I can just say honey can you get me a slurpee and hopefully that will remind him of the upcoming date LOL)
Rylaff - I really liked your pictures that were on garden.com! You sure do have a talent for pics!! Niceville sounds lovely, especially being next to a bayou...I bet there are all kinds of naturalized plants there that make interesting shots...
Deanna, looks like you will be planning a summer wedding, and that's a good idea to get a date that is easy to remember. : ) I remember one year, my DH and I both forgot, and remembered it the day after. lol 11/8 is easy to overlook, after a few years. : )
My first marriage was on 4-1 (April Fools Day!) We didn't realize it at first, it was a Sat and payday for us. LOL! Guess that is why it didn't last?
My birthday is 3/31, and I was adopted. I always thought that my birthday was probably 4/1 (April Fools Day) and they just moved it back a day, to be nice. lol : )
Actually though, when I found out the time I was born, it was 3:31 on 3/31. : )
~Lucy
That is pretty cool Lucy!!
Sheila- I hear you about marriage dates! My previous marriage was 2-29 leap year....needless to say the ex hubby thought it was perfectly acceptable to do a gift once every 7 years...I guess thats why we didn't make it to "two official" anniversarys :(
Lucy...dates surely can be odd huh? my youngest was born on 6-6 and weighed 6-6 when her birthday was on 6-6-06 I kept waiting for something to pop up on her head! or to turn into Damien :)~
Well, look at it like this, Deanna, that is five 6's, not 3. : ) She won't grow those bumps on her head till about 16. lol : )
Baahaaa!!!
Oh Lucy I know! My oldest is 21....but they create to most wonderful memories I wouldn't trade motherhood for the whole world or all the money in it
Mine are 31(boy) and 27 (girl). I'm trying to get grandchildren out of them, now. DS isn't married, and DD just recently started trying. Her Husband is gone alot tho, so I don't know how long thats gonna take. lol
