Thank you Ted - do you ever over winter Brugs in the ground?

Kingston, OK(Zone 7a)

No. I tried and some came back from the roots. Now I only do a few select ones like Daydreams, Species, mountain magic cross, Miya, Ecuador pink, Candida Double white ETC in large pots. Store them dormant in the shop in the winter.

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

Thanks Ted.

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

So how big a pot - I am trying to get ready... I have 12 or so that I want to take with me and just want to be ready. I have given up on most plants coming with me but brugs, house plants, walking Iris, some Daylilies, Rock Rose, and a few of my Iris... Everything that I could I took see from - so I have a lot of seed going with me and I will leave the school garden a big supply for the next several years they will be ready and good to go. Just want to know what I will have to do to take care of them for while I am up there.

Kingston, OK(Zone 7a)

I use a 20 gallon pot. Check one of the tree places and see if they have any to give you.

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

20 gallon?????? Wow.. how much do they weigh? My only one in a pot is in a 10 gallon pot. I can really see that I am really going to have to steo my game up.

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Mitch, could you set them up at your in-laws home? I would be more than glad to assist anyway I could. Remember, I am just baby sitting.

Kingston, OK(Zone 7a)

That will do.
They will not get as big and you are used to in that size.

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

I know... I have moved the Daylilies up there already. They live in a small - 500 Sq foot 1910s home in deep Oklahoma City... I would not want pots there for fear they would be taken and there is no room inside for the babies to live - we will have our own place set up agian by winter - I hope but just that summer there I am not sure that is a good idea... will try for sure.

Christi - you are just tooo sweet,Mitch

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

They grow to fill out the pot then? I can do them that size... we just might have a 6m. stay in some sppartments and just have to be ready for getting them into the appartment with us - not a fun thing to do...

Ted I am going to have soooo many questions for you.

Kingston, OK(Zone 7a)

On the Brug's take some rooted cuttings with you instead. They are fast growers and I can supply you with some if you loose any.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Have a good trip Mitch!

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

I still cant get used to the idea of you moving away, it is so nice to have to have you close by.

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

I know and it will not be until next year...

Ted that is a great idea - I can do early spring cuttings and have them ready to take with me.

Dallas, TX

Mitch you are leaving Texas? Why are you doing this? Oh my! What am I going to do? Mitch what are you going to do in Oklahoma ?

Brenda and Charlene the seeds are yours! no problem. It will have to wait until Saturday daytime so i can see. I hate this time change ... I cant see squat! Just tonight I drove off the road to right ... trying to turn left into a shopping center, following someone else I ran up on the median ... it made such a loud noise ... everybody stop to look. I am a basket case tonight!

Brenda those Brugs are the ones you sent me last spring ... I did good, didn't I?

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

Sylvia - sent ya a dmail.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

I am unsure what spacific coleus that is. I have many types and know the name of none.

Bear

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

just wanted to say hello to you sylvia.

Trois gave me the most beautiful (he had a photo) False Foxglove seeds. I can't find the botanical name of them. He said to sow them in the Spring and they would bloom in the Fall. Does Trois post anymore? Anyone know what these seeds are?

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

well, no cocoa but please sow them and let us know what "we" get. lol.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Cocoa, those seeds Trois had were a mixture of several from what I remember. Here a name I was given that Frostweed has a picture for. I am going to go with that one until I can take pics of my own.

Thank you Sheila, how exciting, I'm glad to know what they are.I'm attempting to keep records this year.haha

Kingston, OK(Zone 7a)

Trying to identify this one. Has stayed all winter in fine shape

I didn't bring it, but it looks like artemisia (wormwood) should have a nice clean soap-like fragrance when you rub the foliage.

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

TA is that one from me? It is wormwood artemisia

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

Did some one give out Iris's or something with twilight in the name? I have something with iris like foliage in my garden bed with a faded white wrap around like tag that looks like it says "twilight". I have not dug down to make sure it has a rhizome so not sure about this. I don't remember even putting this in the ground or buying or receiving it. Complete memory loss! The only thing I can think of is I got it at the swap and forgot about it.

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

I don't remember who had them, but I got some irises at the swap too. No idea what they are. One is about to bloom, though.

Could whoever brought them ID some for us?

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

I think some one is playing a trick on us! I had an iris just pop up in one of my beds and I know I didn't plant it!

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

broncbuster, dig down an inch and see if you can see a label wrapped around it like mine. Then we will really know that we have had visits by the same iris fairy. :)

Mine is a tiny little fan, far from blooming. But it looks just like iris.

I thought Patrob brought a few iris, could be wrong. I just know she has that stunning bed full of them. (I don't think she's watching this thread)

Bronc, is that iris coming up next to anything you got from me (did you get anything from me?) I have cemetery iris that come up everywhere! Including pots.

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

I would guess Mitch. He often wraps the id around the corm so he doesn't loose it. You wouldn't believe the beauty I have on the southside of my house from the iris he has given to me. Exquisite.

Christi

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

Cocoa, it's not by anything I got from someonelse. I got rosemary, spearmint, peppermint, Mexican Bush Sage, and Butterfly Weed (seeds) from you and they are all doing great!

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

I brought several big bags full of Iris, took them and about 30 DLS to the swap and gave them all away.. Shelia got a big bag of Iris but I dont have any idea who else might have picked them up. TJ - you need some Iris, I have a white/brown one - Russet wings, Peach Delight, Indian Chief, Sunrise, and a small light purple one that is stunning in the garden all still left here blooming right now.

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

Where am I gonna put them?

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

Someone told me you might add a new garden bed this year when I dropped off the cactus ^_^

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

Eventually, I'll be adding alot of beds, but right now we don't have the funds. I guess I can add some more to the Irises by the road, so just let me know when.

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

I hear you - gardening adds up fast. Just remind me and I will bring them to the swap.

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

I want a brown/white. About to start a thread with what is blooming. OMgosh. A good deal of it belongs to Mitch.

Christi

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

Christi - remaind me and I will get you some when the order gets here.
